BBA Highlights: Resa and Mira first set of unlucky evictees
Just a week after the launch, it seems like just yesterday that the housemates were first ushered into the BBA House. But as the norm goes, all housemates were up for eviction, surprising them all as to the untimely and possible death of their stay in the house, except of course the head of house, Laveda, who earned her exemption with her brilliant saxophone performance at the launch show.
The housemates have put in their best this past week, with their task performances and mingling with fellow housemates, as well as their true colors beginning to show. A lot happened in just seven days, which involved the two Nigerian housemates engaging in a heated argument, in which Lilian cried foul saying Tayo insulted her with his demeaning opinions, Lilian getting a sensual physical therapy, Mira and Luis getting a little closer than expected and eventually getting cozy smooching up, etc. However, the eviction was still inevitable and sadly one or two had togo.
Eviction Night Performance
Two popular Nigerian stars graced the stage during the eviction night on the huge stage in front of the crowd and the entire Africa watching from their TV sets. Phyno and Olamide performed their hit track Ghost Mode to the excited crowd. The tow hip-hop stars kept the audience hyped, regardless of the impending doom for some housemates and their loved ones waiting eager among them. It was not all bad news, though, as later in the show, IK revealed which team won the extravaganza.
First Eviction
The first housemate to be evicted form the Big Brother Hotshots was Resa. She was instructed to leave the house by Big Brother and join IK on the live stage for her live interview. The room seemed to turn cold as, 12 housemates were made to stand. Resa seemed to take the news well but the news did not go down well with her friend, Sipe, who immediately wept. Esther shouted out “I love you Resa”, as she as the Zambian lass hurried out of the house.
According to the week’s votes: Resa and Mira received the lowest votes.
One housemate received two country votes: Macky2. Eleven housemates received one country vote each: Arthur, Butterphly, Esther, Goitse, Idris, M’am Bea, Nhlanhla, Permithias, Sabina, Sipe, Tayo and Trezagah. Twelve housemates received 0 country votes, which means that the tie breaker rule came into effect.
According to the Big Brother Africa rules, if the popularity vote does not yield clear evictees and there is a deadlock between two or more housemates, the percentage vote from each of the 15 regions will be added together and divided by 14 in order to generate an across-the-board percentage, which will then ascertain who stays and who goes.
This made two housemates vulnerable for eviction as per the tie-breaker rules, and they were: Resa and Mira.
