Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has finally confirmed reports that her six-year marriage to United States-based businessman, Philip Ehiagwina, has come to an end. But she has denied allegations of indulging in extra-marital affairs.

Several reports had claimed that the Nollywood diva cheated on her husband and was even beaten up by some ladies over a supposed Lekki big boy, who she was allegedly frolicking with.

However, Ini has come out to say none of such happened.

She claimed to have asked for divorce from her husband based on irreconcilable differences.

“I asked for a divorce from my ex-husband because of lots of irreconcilable differences. I never cheated on my husband,” she tweeted.

The soon-to-be divorced couple who got married in Houston, Texas in 2008 a a lavish ceremony attended by some of Ini’s celebrity friends have been living apart.

The wedding at the time was controversial, as stories had it that Philip was engaged to one of Ini’s friends before she allegedly snatched him away.

Ini believes that the reports of infidelity on her part are a conscious and malicious attempt to tarnish her image.

The couple had no children.

Ini Edo is the second Nigerian celebrity in less than a week whose marriage would be confirmed to be troubled, after it was revealed delectable singer, Tiwa Savage, had moved out of her husband house and talks of divorce were already cropping up.
