‎Siasia picks 25 for Congo clash

Nigeria’s U-23 coach, Samson Siasia, has selected 25 players ahead of the African U-23 championship final round, first leg match with Congo.

Siasia said the selected players would be joined by four overseas-based players – Imoh Ezekiel, Aminu Umar, Sodiq Popoola and Gabriel Abalo – for the final phase of preparations for the crucial game billed for the Adokiye Amiesiemaka Stadium, Port-Harcourt on July 19. ‎

The coach urged the players who failed to make the cut not to be discouraged but to work harder to keep themselves among the pool of players that could be called up for future  assignments as the team prepares for the return leg, and the All-Africa Games in Congo.

Players whose clubs have league games at the weekend were released but told to report to the Port-Harcourt camp on Monday.
