Top 10 Eaglets who never became Eagles

The Golden Eaglets is Nigeria’s youngest national team which develops players for the Super Eagles, the senior national team.

Nigeria is the most successful team in the U17 level – with a record five wins and five runners-up positions, but much of this has not translated into good for the Super Eagles.

The country won its first title in 1985 side, defeating West Germany 2-0 in the final.

In 1993, Kanu  Nwankwo led a team comprising, Wilson Oruma, Celestine and Emmanuel Babayaro to victory in Japan. Nigeria won again in 2007, 2013 and 2015 respectively.

Combative and strong, Chinwo, now aged 30, could drive from behind all the way to the front and even assist in goal scoring. He only played for the Flying Eagles.
