The Lagos state government on Monday donated 120 new 5KVA generators to the the police in the state.
Akinwunmi Ambode, govenor of the state, said the purpose of the donation is to aid the security agencies to perform at optimal capacity.
But this gesture did not go down well with some Nigerians who criticised it on social media.

this is unfortunate really. Since the gov't are not sure of constant power supply, solar energy would've been better to donate.

Some believe the donation should extend to barbers and tailors too.
Donation like this should also go to small scale business owners, such as barbers, tailors etc…

Others were concerned about the health hazard.
Must we always do things for political reasons. Pollution will increase in the state

@AkinwunmiAmbode would have preferred solar power which is friendly to the environments. #letsgogreen
