Ten lucky players shared the daily N10,000 prize in maiden CableQuiz launched by TheCable on Tuesday to galvanise interest in Nigeria’s history and current affairs.
Over 1,000 entries correctly answered all the 10 questions in the free-to-play quiz, which is currently on a one-month experimental phase.
Because there were more than 10 correct entries, an electronic draw was held to pick the winners.

The winners were notified after the draw and the five of them who responded with their bank details have been paid.
Announcing the competition on the fifth anniversary of TheCable on Monday, Simon Kolawole, founder and CEO, said there has been persistent complaint about young Nigerians not knowing the country’s history but little has been done to tackle the challenge.
“Our mandate is to deliver knowledge-driven journalism in the pursuit of Nigeria’s progress, and we shall continue to do this using the resources that we have,” he said.

“CableQuiz will teach people history in a fun way. The players will be having fun and learning at the same time and could get rewarded with a cash prize.
“We are running an experimental phase for one month, after which we shall decide whether or not to scale it up.”
Wednesday’s quiz is open. You can click here to play.
