Twelve Nigerian referees have been accredited by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for the 2021/2023 international windows. 

Afolabi Oni, the media officer of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), broke the news in a statement.

Oni said that the accreditation took place after the referees aced the 2021 FIBA match commissioner and referees exams on Monday.

Adamu Janlong, the current technical representative of the NBBF, was retained as match commissioner alongside Adeola Oboro and Akisehinde Ishola.

Kingsley Ojeaburu, certified FIBA referee, will continue building his reputation alongside the renowned Lai Alimi.

Others are Lagos-based Samuel Shofoluwe, Ayodeji Oladeji (Ibadan), Afolabi Ikuomola (Lagos), Opeyemi Ogunleye (Abuja), and Gambo Musa (Jigawa).

The only female that passed the exam and physical test was Fatima Ibrahim from Abuja. The new entrant will make her debut on the continent alongside Samuel Nuhu, also from Abuja, to complete the list.
