13-year-old saxophonist plays for children living with cancer

Beyond his musical prowess as a saxophonist, 13-year-old Nigerian prodigy, TJ Emore, has taken his acts to new heights, gives hope to children living with cancer.

Popularly known as TJ Sax, the soulful and skillful musical genius has shown that age does not matter when it comes to giving back to his society.

This he does by lending his support to the Children Living with Cancer Foundation (CLWCF), at the ‘Heart of Hope Walkathon’ event.

The event billed for September 19, 2015 by 7:30am will see the young star join the foundation for a walk from Dowen college, Lekki phase 1 through Lekki phase 1 GTB gate Oniru, back to Lekki phase 1, with the aim of soliciting support and making a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

TJ Sax, who was born on November 24, 2001 in Lagos Nigeria, has played at the Aso Villa in Abuja – in 2011 at the former first Lady, Patience Jonathan’s Children’s Day party.

The thrilling act released an album in 2011 when he was just 10 years old, with hit tracks such as Forever Young, originally rendered by Jay-Z; He Lives in me, by Diana Ross; a sax medley, and a host of other songs.

He has performed with leading Nigerian acts such as MI, Sasha P, Mode 9, Rock Steady, Dammy Krane, Solidstar, Vector, Sound Sultan and Tuface Idibia.

Children Living with Cancer Foundation (CLWCF) is a non-profit charity organisation dedicated to the care and welfare of children with childhood cancers and their families in conjunction with the Oncology ward of the Pediatric Department of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
