147 rescued as police raid yet another ‘torture centre’ in Kaduna

The police have raided another religious rehabilitation centre in Kaduna state, setting 147 inmates free.

The police stormed the centre located at Kwanar Gurguwa in Igabi local government area of the state on Saturday.

Nasir el-Rufai, governor of the state, was on the ground when security operatives raided the place  yj ghnbv  c.

Some of the rescued victims were reportedly found in chains at the facility popularly known as Malam Niga’s Rehabilitation Centre.

Among those rescued were 22 females and four foreigners while the owner of the centre was whisked away by security operatives.

The rescued victims were later evacuated to the Hajj Camp in Mando area of the state capital.

According to the government, the victims would be reunited with their families upon the completion of the exercise.
Three weeks ago, the police raided an Islamic centre at Rigasa, still in Kaduna, rescuing at least 300 victims.

The victims, who according to the police, are from Burkina Faso, Mali and other African countries, were subjected to inhuman treatment.

Last week, the police shut down a religious centre (pictured) in the Sabon Garin area of Daura in Katsina state.

Sanusi Buba, commissioner of police, had said there were six rooms in the facility and each of the rooms accommodated over 40 inmates who were dehumanised.

He said investigation revealed that the place had been in existence for at least 40 years.

  1. this is good and duty for the government to investigate any religious centre that called rehabilitation centre with out permission by the government to treat people in wrong ways, to finished the person.
