Fifteen people reportedly died on Wednesday after a boat they were travelling in, capsized in Mai’adua LGA of Katsina state.
It isn’t yet clear if there were more victims on board the boat which capsized on Wednesday night.
The victims were buried on Thursday morning.
Present at the funeral was Yau Gwajo-Gwajo, Katsina commissioner for local government and emirates.

The commissioner, who offered condolences to the community, prayed for God to grant repose to the souls of the deceased.
He also presented relief materials to the family members of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the development comes days after a boat capsized in Sokoto state, leading to the death of more than 20 people.

The Sokoto incident occurred on April 12 on the Shagari river in Shagari LGA of the state.
Days before the boat accident in Sokoto, some residents of Niger state, said to be fleeing bandit attacks, drowned in a river in Guni village located in Munya LGA of the state.
The incident, which occurred on March 30, led to the death of at least 20 persons.
