At least 16 persons have been killed after a trailer crushed three vehicles along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mayowa Odewo, spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo sector command, said the accident happened at the Ojoo, Iwo road interchange in Ibadan, the state capital.
Odewo said 17 persons sustained various degrees of injuries while two escaped unhurt out of the 35 involved in the accident.
He said the accident involved a Mack trailer with the registration number AKM 548 ZY, a Nissan commercial bus with registration number MUB 20 LG, a Nissan Micra taxi with registration number BDJ 520 YC and a Honda Accord SUV with registration number KRD 707 ER.

The FRSC spokesperson said the accident occurred after the trailer suffered a brake failure.
Odewo said the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, adding that the corpses and affected vehicles have been handed over to the police.
