Two female suicide bombers killed 15 people, including themselves, at a mosque in the ministry of housing quarters and at another location within Buhari housing estate in Damaturu, capital of Yobe state, on Wednesday.
According to AP, the incidents occurred around 6am when people were observing early-morning prayers.
“One of the suicide bombers gained entry into the mosque and detonated explosives and the other bomber was sighted roaming around the compound and (when) asked questions, she too detonated explosives,” Ibrahim Musa, a resident, said.
Musa Idi, executive secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), also confirmed the attacks to reporters but did not give details of the causalities.
