The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published its final list of candidates seeking to contest the Edo governorship election in September.
Godwin Obaseki, incumbent governor of Edo, is rounding off his second and final term in office.
In a statement on Monday, Sam Olumekun, INEC’s commissioner for information and voter education, said 17 political parties have presented candidates seeking to succeed Obaseki.
Olumekun said of the 17 candidates, 16 are male while one is female.
