2-year-old ‘kidnapped by mystery woman’ in Abuja

Khadija Suleiman, a 2-year-old girl, has been abducted in the Kuje area of the federal capital territory (FCT).

Suleiman, her father, raised the alarm over the incident, explaining that it was a strange woman who seized his daughter on Saturday.

In a Facebook post, the traumatised father appealed to members of the public who have information on his daughter to contact him or the nearest police station.

When TheCable reached him on Sunday, he explained that his wife, who was expecting another child, dropped Khadija in a place presumed to be safe, before leaving for the hospital.

The man, who works with an airline, said Khadija was in the company of another child when the sad incident occurred.

“She is 2 years and 7 months, my wife is due and she is expecting, so she decided to take her to a place where we are comfortable with while my wife went to the hospital,” he told TheCable.

“I work with an air carrier, we conveyed APC members to Ondo for thier rally yesterday.

“There is a boy in that house and they both went with my daughter to buy something. He said a woman approached them and offered to assist them. After they bought it, she led them to a lonely path, where she took my daughter away, and the little boy was crying after being helpless, but could do nothing.”

Suleiman expressed optimism that his daughter would be found.

Anjuri Manzah, spokesman of the FCT police command, said he had not been briefed about the incident.

He promised to find out the details, and make his findings known.
