Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach, has listed Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho to spearhead the attack in Friday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Lone Star of Liberia.

The former Niger Republic and Etoile du Sahel boss decided to stick with his trusted soldiers who appeared to have impressed him during training.

Daniel Akpeyi, the returnee goalkeeper, also performed well during training but will make do with a place on the bench as Rohr picked Maduka Okoye, Sparta Rotterdam custodian, between the sticks.

The trusted ‘Oyinbo Wall’ hasn’t been breached in recent times, which means William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun have the mantle at the heart of defence.

It will be a midfield pivot with Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi involved.

Further upfront will see Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, Osimhen, and Iheanacho bombard Peter Butler’s men.

The group C game scheduled for Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos will kick off at 5 pm.

The Super Eagles will then fly to Cape Verde for the second game of the group four days later.
