Ikechi Emenike, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Abia state, has advised party members to remain united in order to win the 2023 elections.

Speaking on Sunday at an event to unveil Uche Ogboso as director-general of his campaign team, Emenike accused the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration of under-developing the state.

He also asked APC supporters to support him to rescue Abia from “the hands of locusts”, adding that the state is fed up with the PDP.

“There is no going back until we reach the government house and rescue this state from perpetrators of bad governance,” he said.

In his remarks, Friday Nwosu, the national welfare officer of APC, said there is a revolution going on in Abia.

“We have been here since 1999 and we know the people that have kept Abia in this mess. We must reject them. We are in a state of revolution,” he said.

“Abia is bleeding; Abia is in a state of decay, and we can’t pretend that all is well.”

He called on state residents to work with APC and its governorship candidate to enthrone good governance in Abia.

In his acceptance speech, Ogboso said the PDP should “start preparing their handover note”.

“We shall work together with the party at the state and national levels and move in one accord to achieve victory for our party in 2023,” he added.
