Iyorchia Ayu, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says members who have not added value to their constituency will not be considered for elective positions in the 2023 elections.
Ayu spoke on Tuesday at an event organised for supporters who defected to the party in Otukpo, Benue state.
The PDP chairman said the party under his watch will place priority on members who make impact and not on politicians with big names.
“Under my leadership of the PDP, it will not just be about big men who have no connection with their people. If you are a big name in the PDP, let us know what you have done in your polling booths, in your wards and in your local governments,” he said.

“Those politicians who stay in Abuja and do not go to their people have no value to the PDP. Those who have value to the PDP are people who are always with their people. They are like fish that swim in the water.”
Ayu also berated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) whom he said have failed the people.
“Presently a wrong leadership in the country under the APC has turned Nigeria into a killing field,” he said.
