Troops of operation Hadin Kai have reportedly repelled an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Monguno LGA of Borno.
The insurgents were said to have broken into a humanitarian aid organisation compound in the community.
According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad, the insurgents started shooting sporadically in the compound around 1am on Thursday.
Sources said the humanitarian aid workers in the community were the target of the insurgents in the attack.

“The terrorists also attempted to cart away with three 4X4 hilux vehicles but met a stiff resistance by the troops of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai who engaged them in a heavy gunbattle.
“They abandoned the vehicles during intense exchange of fire with the Special Forces before retreating.”
