Chinedu Okoli, Nigerian musician better known as Flavour, is expected to perform at the 20th anniversary of The Rochas Foundation, a non-governmental organisation.

Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state, founded it in 1998.

As part of the celebration for providing free education to the less privileged through its educational empowerment programmes, the foundation has put together a special programme.

In a statement, Uloma Rochas, director-general of the organisation, said the idea behind the celebration is for the foundation to take stock, reinvigorate and outline strategies for expansion and further growth.

“The Rochas Foundation was founded February 24, 1998 (That makes it 20 years in 2018) by Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, a Nigerian entrepreneur and education philanthropist who is passionate about free education for every African child. We pride ourselves as leaders in advocating and promoting free education and life-changing opportunities for the less privileged African child,” the statement read.

“In the last two decades, we have established 10 functional Rochas Foundation colleges (Ogboko, Enugu, Jos, Bauchi, Yola, Zaria, Kano, Sokoto, Owerri and Ibadan), with over 15,000 children receiving free and qualitative education presently and more than 4,000 graduates that make up the Rochas Foundation Old Students Association (ROFOSA).

“We thus find it expedient to celebrate this milestone in the life of this foundation, as it will afford us the unique opportunity of stocktaking, and reinvigorate for expansion and growth.”
