The Osasu Show dedicates 3rd anniversary to less privileged

Osasu Igbinedion, host of The Osasu Show, says she was created by God to impact the lives of people, especially women and under-privileged children.

Igbinedion said this while recounting the journey so far since three years after the launch of The Osasu Show, a programme centered on politics and development.

The show officially aired its first episode on March 10, 2015.

In this documentary, Igbinedion narrated how she had to “give up a seemingly conventional life to venture into one where I could possibly leave a trail”.

“As a child, I read so many books about great men and women in various fields from politics to entrepreneurship to leadership and even sports,” Igbinedion said.

“I learnt two major lessons from their stories; first is their sacrifice and courage. I also learnt that failure is a decision, because great people don’t fail, they either succeed or learn.

“I would describe humanitarian life as challenging and at the same time very rewarding. This is my purpose, this is the reason God created Osasu, to impact the lives of people.

“I aspire to be in a position I could serve humanity. That inspiration of mine was what led to my career path as a journalist and ultimately, the birth of the Osasu Show.

“I had to give up a seemingly conventional life to venture into one where I could possibly leave a trail. I have always been passionate about giving back to our society, passionate about Nigeria as a country, and us as a people.”

The show has led Igbinedion to states of conflict to hear the plight of the people and contribute relief materials to them.

She has also gone on the street to hear the ordinary man’s view of governance and how it affects them.

Igbinedion also founded the Osasu Show Foundation, which according to her, is driven by certain core beliefs and values including education.

According to Igbinedion, the mission of the foundation is to “improve the welfare and livelihoods of women and youths, especially those in rural communities through the creation of programs in education, economic empowerment and capacity building to fast track the eradication of poverty in Nigeria and by extension, Africa.”
