26 COVID-19 patients discharged in Lagos

Twenty-six more COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Lagos after testing negative for coronavirus.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, made the announcement in a statement issued on Wednesday evening.

The patients, 13 females and 13 males, were discharged from isolation facilities at Yaba, Onikan and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

A total of 528 patients have now recovered from COVID-19 in Lagos.

“Good people of Lagos, today, 26 COVID-19 Lagos patients; 13 males and 13 females, all Nigerians, were discharged from our Yaba, Onikan and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) isolation facilities to reunite with the society,” the statement read.

“The patients, 6 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 11 from Onikan and 9 from LUTH Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19 in two consecutive readings.

“With this, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 528.”

As of May 12, 2020, Lagos still had the highest figure in Nigeria with 1,990 confirmed COVID-19 cases out of a total of 4,787 cases recorded in 34 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
