Nigerians evacuated from India, totalling 269, have arrived in the federal capital territory (FCT) and Lagos.
In a tweet on Saturday, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) said 103 of them arrived in Lagos and 166 in Abuja about 2am.
The commission also said all the evacuees would have to undergo a compulsory self-isolation for 14 days even though they tested negative to COVID-19 before boarding the flights.
This, it said, is in line with the standards put in place by the presidential task force on COVID-19 to contain the spread of the disease.

“All tested negative before boarding and are to be re-tested within 72 hours at an NCDC designated testing centre”

Since the pandemic began, various countries, including Nigeria, have been returning citizens stuck in other countries back home.
So far, Nigeria has evacuated its citizens from the United States, Dubai, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and China.
Although countries across the world have placed a ban on flights, evacuations and transport of essential materials are exempted from flight restrictions.
