  1. In Abia, the polls are on but indications of official interference, collusion or negligence abound.

At Nkwoagu, the headquarters of Umunneochi L.G.A., PDP officers led by the Transition Chairman of the council brought in loads of fake INEC ad hoc staff which led to a fracas late yesterday. The election materials were taken away with INEC officials saying the election for the local government area has been postponed.

This morning, military and some fringe election personnel arrived but no substantive INEC officials.

At Alaoji Park, Ugwunagbo, thugs allegedly loyal to PDP were beating would-be voters and not letting them perform their civic responsibility while the Police kept watch. Luckily, the military arrived and restored order.

At Ward 3, Aba South, there were many registered voters but as at 10.30 this morning there were no INEC officials.

Meanwhile, an INEC Commissioner from Ebonyi State who, together with another from Abia State and the REC, were the pillars for the doctoring of the April 11 elections is in charge of the rerun in Abia State.
