The police command in Imo says its operatives have arrested one Chinyere Ohanyere, a 55-year-woman, for allegedly buying a set of twins.

The suspect was said to have been arrested on Tuesday at Graceland estate, Owerri, following a tip-off from a resident.

Ohanyere allegedly pretended to have given birth to the twins on September 3, 2021, at Irete in Owerri West LGA of the state, when she was caught with them.

The police said it was later discovered, following medical investigation, that the suspect did not give birth to the babies, and that she had allegedly bought them.
