After 6 years, Jide Ojo presents another book

Jide Ojo, public affairs analyst, and executive director of OJA development consult, is set to unveil his second book: ‘A Nation in Tow: Essays on Governance and Leadership in Nigeria’.

Ojo’s first book: ‘Nigeria, My Nigeria: Perspectives from 1990 – 2010’ was released in 2010.

His latest work is a 336-page book, which 66 commentaries spread across 10 chapters.

The chapters have issues relating to politics and elections, governance, legislature and judiciary, women and persons with disabilities as well as security, media and society.

Ojo said though the articles in the book had been published in various newspapers, having them as a collection would contribute to body of knowledge on governance.

The unveiling of the book will be preceded by a public lecture to be delivered by Isaac Albert, a professor of African History at the University of Ibadan.

The event will hold at Newton Park Hotel Annex, Wuse 2, Abuja, on August 25.

Ojo, who is a columnist with Punch and Authority newspapers, said the book aims to celebrate his 25 years of his “media advocacy and third year of being a columnist with Punch”.
