‘60 bandits killed’ as NAF air strikes destroy hideouts in Katsina

At least 60 bandits have been reported killed in military air strikes conducted by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji in Kankara area of Katsina state.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the air strikes were conducted in the east of Kankara on April 15.

Intelligence sources told the publication that the strike targeted the camp of Babura, a notorious bandits’ leader.

The publication said Babura is famous for terrorising residents of Kankara, Malumfashi, Funtua and Bakori in the state.

The publication said Babura escaped the strikes but troops recovered 36 motorcycles from the camp.

On April 13, NAF troops conducted an air strike at the Kolleram village in Borno and killed over 30 fighters of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), including three top commanders.
