700 athletes to participate as 2022 Adron Games begin Nov 10

About 700 athletes are set to participate in this year’s edition of the Adron Games scheduled to hold between November 10 to 12 at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Lagos Sports Complex.

The annual event is sponsored by Adron Homes and Properties as part of its corporate social responsibility.

This year’s edition, themed “the fit are the best”, is open to homeowners, Adron contractors, and students.

Waidi Akanni, former Super Eagles midfielder, Waidi Akanni, said the sponsor of the annual event deserves accolades for its consistency despite the economic downturn in the country.

Akanni, who is the technical consultant for the games, added that only the 2020 edition failed to hold due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and its effects.

Speaking at the unveiling of event in Lagos on Wednesday, he said: “The tenacity of Adron Homes’ Group Managing Director, Adetola Emmanuel-King has been awesome in organising the competition every year.

“As usual, we have lined up Games Ambassadors for this year and they include ex-Nigeria internationals Daniel Amokachi and Joseph Yobo.

“About 700 athletes would participate in this year’s event and we hope to discover fresh talents from among the participants who would be nurtured for the country.”

Also speaking, Jesuyemisi Odeyemi, the sponsoring company’s group secretary, said: “There will be raffle in which the media would be opportune to win prizes.

“On our part, we would verify participants with staff identification card while students would be registered based on the data of the tertiary institutions.”
