Jimoh Ibrahim, senator representing Ondo south, says the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo was a “mega fraud”.
Ibrahim contested the election but lost out to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo.
Aiyedatiwa is completing the second four-year term of Rotimi Akeredolu, the former governor, who died in December 2023.
Many aspirants faulted the exercise presided over by Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi state.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Ibrahim said he could not vote during the election because there was no polling unit close to his residence.
He added that some party officials showed up after he complained to Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC.
The senator said he has approached the court to seek an order for a fresh primary.

“Two clear prayers are being sought in the court as far as the mega fraud called the Ondo APC gubernatorial primary election is concerned,” Ibrahim said.
“The two prayers are one, that the sham carried out on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, should be cancelled for a fresh one to be conducted, and two, for the delisting of APC from Ballot in the November 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo state.”
