A threesome with Akan Udofia and Ahmed Tinubu

Last night was queer.  My brother and collaborator Udeme Etukeyen had called. He wanted  a video conference call to discuss Akan Udofia
Now I have met Akan or AK as he is fondly called and engaged him in some very deep and mutually strengthening conversations along social cohesion, empowerment and social engineering.
Those kinds of conversations inspire me and strengthen my believe in the pool of emerging leadership in this country.
So I wasn’t hesitant at all for the meeting. Udeme is a strategist a very good one at that and he has been talking for sometime now on how to perfectly align Akan’s thought processes and engaging philosophy in a seamless and penetrative communications strategy that would hit pay dirt with the many and different audiences that needs to receive this message.
The meeting was brief and incisive as expected and I left it nourished and then I slept off.
Now I can dream and as my Ibibio people will say, ‘ ayin a surb’- na him name dey do am’.
I can dream for Africa and my dreams are usually so eclectic that even me in the dream will be wondering what kind dream be this still in the dream o.
So last night,  Akan’s thoughts on demystifying power and giving the common man unfettered access to it in a bid to ramp up productivity and engagement was the last thing on my mind as I closed my beautiful eyes.
Then I saw Tinubu. I knew it wasn’t going to be a wet dream. Tinubu came to my childhood house in Shomolu.
He wanted a meeting. I said No. But later out of respect I agreed. He looked frail but his eyes where sharp.
I prostrated and said, ‘Baba MI’ and he said ‘Duke I want to talk’. I said I’m listening sir.’
He said, I mean well. I said continue by this time looking for how to run away. He said , you misunderstand me, I said do you blame me.
He said, see Nigeria is complex, I said what else is new. He said we have to re-engage and reposition. We have to pull back, look at its complexities with a view to unraveling it all with a clean mindset.
He caught me. I said, Baba keep talking. He said he was tired. Can I give him water. I said sure. I got him water and he continued.
See, Edgar Nigeria is a case study.  It has potentials and new leaders like yourself without the limitations of ethnicity, avarice and envy can make it fulfill its full potentials.
I was liking this Baba. Continue Baba MI I said. He said he was hungry.  I said, I have only Afang and he said bring. I have heard so much of this your Afang.
I gave him Afang with Fufu and Goat meat. He asked for stew. I laughed Daddy no stew for this one o. Oya continue.
He said, we need to bring back true federalism, fiscal responsibility and work with the federal character commission to rebalance strategic appointments in the short term while keeping an eye on enshrining a merit based structure that would throw up the best at all times
I felt like kissing him. I hugged him and said but Baba why did u derail. I used to love you as NADECO and could kill for you as Lagos State Governor but since 2015, you have been strange unrecognizable
He said, my son with time I will tell you all. For now work with me. Let’s reclaim this country, let’s put it back on track.
We are not promising Eldorado but we shd refocus it so younger more vibrant leaders can now take it and run with it.
By this time, I was in tears as I knelt down in front of him looking at him with pity,  his shoulders drooping from the burden of history that he had put on it.
He finished his food, licked his fingers and stood up to leave with his retinue of hangers on.
As he left he turned and whispered in my ears, ‘ Duke give me Anonymous Nipples na, I never to old to wank’ I laughed I say Baba no worry he say 1 copy but I go pay for 50 make mama Remi no catch me.
I said, ‘ she won’t no worry and if she catch u, you can always come back here. I go give u BQ.
I woke up.
