Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, has announced the creation of the Kano elders council.
Speaking during a press briefing on Saturday, Yusuf said the council would serve as an advisory body to the state government.
The Kano governor said the state is blessed with elders and leaders, who had achieved great successes in their careers.
Yusuf said membership of the council include former governors, deputy governors, senate presidents, speakers of national and state assemblies, who are indigenes of the state.

The creation of the council comes barely 24 hours after the supreme court affirmed Yusuf as the duly elected governor of Kano.
On Friday, the apex court set aside the judgment of the appeal court that sacked Yusuf as governor of Kano.
