Abba Yusuf, Kano’s governor, has denied the knowledge of a contract allegedly awarded for drug supply to the 44 LGAs in the state.
In a joint statement by Halilu Dantiye, the Kano commissioner for information, and Sanusi Bature, the spokesperson to the governor, Yusuf ordered an investigation into the allegation.
“The Governor, therefore, directed the Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), to immediately investigate the allegation and report the outcome for further necessary action,” the statement reads.
Yusuf also urged the people of Kano to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation.

This is coming on the heels of an allegation by Bello Galadanchi, a skit maker popularly known as Dan Bello, who claimed in a viral video that the Kano government was involved in a drug supply contract.
In the video, Bello alleged that the Kano government was involved in a fraudulent contract across the 44 LGAs.
“We’ve uncovered some past theft of public funds, but what about on-going wrongdoings?” he said.

He alleged that the 44 LGAs in the state are “forced to pay N10 million before taxes for medicines”.
