Abducted Ekiti APC chairman regains freedom after four days

Paul Omotosho, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state, has been released by his abductors.

Omotosho was abducted on Saturday evening while driving along the Agbado Ekiti-Imesi road.

The abductors shot one of his car tyres, forcing him to stop, before bundling him into a Toyota Hilux van.

Sunday Abutu, Ekiti police spokesperson, confirmed his release, adding that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction.

Abutu said the combined effort of security agencies led to the release of the politician and two others.

He said Dare Ogundare, the commissioner of police, appreciated members of the public for their support towards the arrest of the suspects.

“Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and are supplying useful information that could lead to the arrest of the prime suspects who are currently at large,” he said.
