Twenty-four hours after the abduction of Peter Breunij, a German professor, and Johannes Buringer, his associate, their kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N60 million.
Both men were abducted in Jenjela village, Kagarko local government area of Kaduna state.
Two men who tried to secure their release were shot to death.
A source told TheCable that the kidnappers demanded N30 million on each of their victims, and warned those negotiating on their behalf against involving security agencies.

Meanwhile, Jimoh Moshood, spokesman of the police force, said special forces comprising the intelligence response team ( IRT), the technical intelligence unit ( TIU) and the anti-kidnapping unit are on the trail of the kidnappers.
He said that the special forces and the police investigators deployed were in contact with the colleagues of the victims and had provided additional security for their safety.
The force spokesman said that to achieve prompt result, the DIG in charge of CIID had been mandated to coordinate the investigation aspect of the operations.

He assured Nigerians and foreigners in the country of their safety and implore them to always request and obtain police escort to protect them.
