AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara, has approved the reappointment of Abdul Muhammed as the rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic.
Halimat Garba, the PRO of the institution, confirmed this in a statement on Monday in Ilorin.
Muhammed was first appointed in October 2019 as the rector of the polytechnic.
Born in 1966 in Ipata of Ilorin East LGA of Kwara State, Abdul Jimoh Mohammed attended ECWA Secondary School Igbaja and Ansaru-I-Islam Secondary School between 1978 and 1984.

He acquired his first degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Ilorin between 1985 and 1990.
In 1998, Muhammed obtained a masters degree in mechanical engineering.
Between May and September 1994, he obtained a post-graduate diploma in computer science from the Federal University of Technology in Owerri.

Muhammed proceeded to the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa for his PhD in 2015.
His work experience started at the Institute of Technology, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin in July 1992 as an assistant lecturer.
He served in various capacities such as departmental admission officer from 1993 to 1995, departmental examination officer (1995 to 1997), and manager of management information system (MIS) at the Institute of Technology (1997 to 1999).
In 1999, Muhammed joined the service of the University of Ilorin as an assistant lecturer in the mechanical engineering department.

Abdul Muhammed worked as a lecturer at Federal Polytechnic, Offa in the year 2000 and rose through the ranks to become the deputy rector (academics) in April 2017.
He would later be appointed as rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic in 2019.
