Ahmad Kalambaina, a lawmaker representing Kware/Wamakko federal constituency of Sokoto, described Danbuga’s passing as a “great loss”.

“It is a great loss, not only to his constituency but to Nigeria as a whole. He died at a time when his family, constituency and Nigeria needed him the most,” Kalambaina said.

Kalu said it is tradition for the house to adjourn plenary when a serving member dies.

“It is the spirit and tradition of the house that we don’t sit for plenary on the day one of us goes to be with the Lord,” he said.

The house subsequently adjourned plenary to Thursday.
