Olukayode Odetoyinbo, Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta diocese, says the church will host a workshop to celebrate world communication day.c
The ommunication day is celebrated across the world annually on May 21.
Gregory Fadele, director of social communications in the diocese, and John Ajayi, chairman, CAMPAN, Catholic diocese of Abeokuta, announced the workshop in a statement on Friday.
The workshop is organised by the Catholic media practitioners association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Abeokuta diocese chapter.

The theme of the workshop, “Speak with the heart: Speaking the truth in love” was pronounced by Pope Francis, the Pontiff.
The workshop will be preceded by the holy mass at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cathedral, Itesi in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Niran Malaolu, chief executive officer, Rock City FM Radio Station, is expected to chair the event.

The workshop will also have Lanre Arogundade, executive director of International Press Institute, Lagos, as the guest speaker.
Arogundade will be speaking on the theme as it relates to ways the media and practitioners can tell the truth in love.
Panellists to make presentations and speak on relevant issues include, Waheed Odusile, commissioner for information and strategy, Ogun state, Funke Egbemode, former president of Nigerian Guild of Editors and immediate past commissioner for information in Osun state.
Also speaking as panellists are Lekan Otufodunrin, director and founder of Media Career Development Centre, and Adeleye Ajayi, chairman, Lagos Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

“CAMPAN members across the diocese, other media practitioners, Catholic artistes and theatre practitioners, members of the diocesan communications commission and staff and members of the directorate of social communications in the diocese, the religious and laity members of the church and members of the public are expected at the workshop, while a communiqué will be issued at the end of the programme,” the statement reads.
