Abiodun Adeniyi to speak at National Waves anniversary lecture in Abuja

Abiodun Adeniyi, dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies at Baze University, will deliver a lecture at Merit House Abuja in June.

The engagement is slated for Thursday, June 6, as part of activities to mark the 16th anniversary of the National Waves Newspaper.

Adeniyi, a professor, will deliver a lecture with the title: ‘Nigerian Tertiary Education and Institutions, Competing With Foreign Counterparts’.

According to Jimmy Enyeh, publisher of National Waves Newspaper and Magazine, eminent Nigerians, top media personalities and academics will grace the event.

“The media as information source has done well in keeping the citizens abreast of developments in our polity be it politics, economy, education, social structure, entertainment and others,” Enyeh said in a statement.

“The business of informing the public has always come with its risk, given the adversarial relationship between power elite and journalists, as a result of the latter mediating the social contract which is often kept in breach by powers-that-be at every point in our political history.”
