ABU students laud Uba Sani for reducing tuition fees in state-owned tertiary institutions

Students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, have commended Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, for reducing school fees in all tertiary institutions owned by the state government.

The students expressed appreciation to the governor on Saturday during the 43rd convocation ceremony of the institution held in Zaria

The governor announced a reduction of school fees for students in government-owned universities across the state in August 2023.

In a statement on Saturday, the students received the governor with a grand welcome chant, praising him for making education affordable.

Sani said the students’ gratitude is an “encouragement to continue to work towards the improvement of the education system in Kaduna.

”The student community expressed their appreciation to the governor for his decision to reduce fees in all state-owned institutions,” the statement reads.

“The reduction in fees has alleviated the financial burden on students and made education more accessible and affordable.

“The atmosphere was filled with excitement, chanting of Oyoyo (Welcome), and appreciation as the students applauded governor Uba Sani for his efforts in prioritizing education and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams.

“The students of the federal government Institution expressed the solidarity welcome and support to serve as an encouragement to governor Uba Sani to continue working towards the betterment of the education system in Kaduna State.

“They equally thanked him for his commitment to repositioning the Kaduna state scholarships and loans board, which has been beneficial to both local and international students.”

The governor assured the students of his commitment and support to the academic community and providing an enabling environment for students.
