Fidelity Bank has donated computer sets with 10 years unlimited internet access to Government Secondary School in Abuja.

Nnamdi Okonkwo, managing director/chief executive officer Fidelity Bank, said the gesture is geared towards building the capacity of students, particularly on the use of modern ICT tools.

According to him, the renovation of the ICT centre is in fulfilment of the objectives of the Fidelity CSR practice which rests on a tripod: “The Environment, Education and Health/Social Welfare”.

He noted that Fidelity Bank strives to ensure healthy community relations by identifying with host communities in activities that are most relevant to them.

“We play a leading role by identifying and seeking viable solutions to the problems of the society like youth empowerment, especially those in our immediate operational environment,” Okonkwo said.

Hassan Imam, regional bank head, who represented by Okonkwo, explained that the country and humanity will be a better place when every citizen, be it corporate or individual plays his role effectively.

“We strongly believe in social advocacy. We also believe that we should not sit and wait for government to do it all alone. We have as a result, extended similar projects and initiatives to other states of the federation,” he said.

The bank said some of the projects it has executed through the FHHP, include the renovation of facilities and provision of classrooms and hostel furniture at Zainab Dakingari Orphanage Home/School in Birnin Kebbi.

Others are construction of the registry block and clinic park landscape in Benue State University, Markudi; renovation and equipping of Boys Correction/Academic Centre, Oregun, Lagos; renovation of Daniel Akintode School, Abeokuta; renovation of Home Economics Arts and Craft Centre, Ikota.
