Samuel Chukwueze, the Nigerian winger, has completed his transfer from Villarreal CF to AC Milan.

The Italian club announced the deal in a statement on Thursday.

The 24-year-old winger signed a five-year contract that will run till 2028 with the Rossoneri.

He will wear jersey number 21 throughout his stay at the San Siro Stadium.

“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze from Villarreal CF. The Nigerian forward has signed for the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028,” the statement reads.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist, Chukwueze joined Milan for a fee in the region of €20 million — plus €8m add-ons to be paid to Villareal.

Chukwueze exited Villarreal after joining the club in 2017.

With the Spanish club’s B team, he played 20 games and scored four goals before debuting with the senior team in September 2018.

He went on to feature 207 times, scoring 37 goals and winning a Europa League title.

Chukwueze has been capped 28 times for Nigeria, scoring four goals.

He is set to become the sixth Nigerian player to play for AC Milan after Taribo West, Taye Taiwo, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Kingsley Umunegbu and Aliyu Datti.
