Reps to CBN: Set up policy to tackle naira devaluation Reps to CBN: Set up policy to tackle naira devaluation

Jimoh Aremu, a member of the house of representatives from Ogun state, has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house, announced his defection via a letter read during Wednesday’s plenary session.

Aremu cited the leadership crisis within the ADC as his reason for dumping the party.

He said he had consulted widely before taking the decision, and that the APC is a better platform for his constituents.

“I will rather join the APC that will have my people benefit from the dividend of democracy,” the lawmaker said.

Aremu is the second member the ADC is losing in the green chamber within three weeks.

Peter Makinde, who represents Ondo east/Ondo west constituency, had dumped the party on February 23.

He also cited the leadership crisis in the ADC as a challenge.

The APC now has four new members of the house in the last one month.
