Adedayo Showemimo, a Nigerian journalist and public relations consultant, represents the country at the first-ever Media Cup, which will be held during the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia, Spain.
The FIA Media Cup brought together top media professionals worldwide, each competing for their country on an international stage.
Showemimo competed against journalists from France, the Czech Republic, Peru, Argentina, Spain, Serbia, and Israel.
Speaking at the event, Showemimo said his participation underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in motorsports journalism and highlights the global appeal of the country’s media talent.

He also expressed pride in representing Nigeria, adding that the Media Cup challenged participants to report on motorsports events and engage directly with racing challenges, bringing a new, immersive angle to sports journalism.
Showemimo has over a decade of experience as a journalist and public relations consultant in the Nigerian entertainment and media sectors.
He has worked with high-profile artists like D’banj, Runtown, and Korede Bello and is the creative director at TLM Operations.

The 2024 FIA Motorsport Games opened with a ceremony on Wednesday. The event will be held across four venues in Valencia, Spain.
Nigeria’s representatives in other racing categories are Baruch Roy Bako in Karting Sprint Senior, Femi Olaoye in Esports GT and Kamto Chukwureh in Esports F4.
The Games are billed to wrap up on October 27.
