Adeola Fayehun, a journalist and YouTuber, has asked secessionists to show what they are doing to improve livelihoods in their respective regions.
The political satirist, who spoke in an interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on ’90MinutesAfrica’, said Yoruba Nation and Biafra Republic agitators should demonstrate what they would do differently if handed separate nations.
“Those who are advocating for secession, what are they doing now, or what is preventing them from doing anything in their places to make life better for their people?” she asked.
“They should tell us how this problem can be solved by having a separate nation.”

Fayehun added that those who think breaking up Nigeria will make things better are wishful thinkers.
She said if secessionists cannot hold their state governors accountable today, how do they expect to do so in a Biafra Republic or Yoruba Nation?
“All the governors are getting hundreds of millions every month as security votes. What are they doing with the money?” she asked.

“Or is it that they stopped being Igbo or Yoruba because they are governors, and suddenly, when Biafra or Yoruba Nation comes, they will start doing well for the people?
“If they don’t care about the people right now, they won’t care even if they separate from Nigeria.”
Fayehun said if separatists have done zilch to improve Nigeria, they would likely take little or zero solutions to their new nations.
