The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The draw for the 34th edition of the continental competition was held at the Parc Des Expositions, Abidjan, on Thursday.
The African countries were divided into six groups of four teams each, and Nigeria will face Ivory Coast, the hosts, as the country eyes a fourth AFCON trophy.
Egypt and Ghana will slug it out in Group B alongside Cape Verde and Mozambique, while Senegal, the current champions, were placed in Group C with Cameroon, Guinea and The Gambia.

Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola are in Group D, while Group E consists of Tunisia, Mali, South Africa and Namibia.
Morocco, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Tanzania complete the final group.
The tournament is expected to be held in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024. The competition was initially billed for mid-2022, but CAF postponed the event over adverse summer weather concerns in the Ivory Coast.

The top two teams from each group will proceed to the second round. They will be joined by four best third-placed teams.
