The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday thrashed Lesotho 3-0 to end the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on a positive note.
The three-time African champions finished group L with 14 points from six games.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen opened the scoring with a slick finish from Kelechi Iheanacho’s pass in the 22nd minute.
Seven minutes later, Lesotho forward Ltsepe Marabe had his goal ruled out for offside.

Midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo doubled the lead from Osimhen’s flick on 50 minutes.
Eagles pressed for more. Goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane masterfully spread his fist to a wicked curler from Tyrone Ebuehi. The Benfica loanee drove from the right and sent a screamer on target.
Coach Gernot Rohr sent on Paul Onuachu and Henry Onyekuru for Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi respectively.

The Genk striker registered his name on the scoresheet when he blasted another Iheanacho’s assist beyond Sekhoane.
With four minutes left on the clock, Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa was introduced for his 96th international cap.
Enyimba winger Anayo Iwuala was also introduced.
There was no more in the armoury of the Super Eagles as they deservedly won 3-0.
