A social media user was on Wednesday successful in his attempt to ensure Leicester City’s X handler address Kelechi Iheanacho, Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, as “senior man”.
Iheanacho plies his trade with Leicester, the English football club.
The drama between the user and Leicester started after the club celebrated Iheanacho’s winning penalty against South Africa to seal the Super Eagles’ place in the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“Kelechi Iheanacho scores the decisive penalty to send Nigeria into #AFCON2023 Final! 👏 🇳🇬,” the club wrote.

The post, however, elicited a response from the X user who faulted the former English Premier League (EPL) winners’ use of Iheanacho over his well-known nickname “senior man”.

Leicester X handler appeared to have bowed to the pressure from the user. In a follow-up post, Iheanacho was appropriately addressed using his nickname.
