The African Development Bank (AFDB) has announced the debarment of Beulah Universal Link Resources Limited for 36 months and Bluestream Systems and Devices Limited for 12 months.

Beulah Limited was debarred for 36 months and Bluesream Systems, 12 months.

The bank said its office of integrity and anti-corruption found that Beulah Limited was engaged in deceitful practices as a result of ‘their joint bid submitted under the urban water supply and sanitation improvement project implemented in Oyo state.

The office of integrity and anti-corruption of the African Development Bank Group is responsible for preventing, deterring and investigating allegations of corruption, fraud and other sanctionable practices in bank group-financed operations.

The urban water supply and sanitation improvement project was financed under the African Development Fund, an entity of the African Development Bank Group.

Beulah Limited gave falsified qualification for their participation in the construction and rehabilitation of water reservoirs contracts.

With the debarment, both companies would not be allowed to participate in projects financed by the bank during the ban period.

The bank also said the “debarment of Beulah Universal Link Resources qualifies for cross-debarment by other multilateral development banks under the agreement for mutual recognition of debarment decisions”

This also includes the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank Group.
