Africa has recorded a total of 15,738 COVID-19 cases and 838 deaths across 52 countries.
This is according to the data obtained from the Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
As of 6pm on Tuesday, the report from the Africa CDC showed that about 2,920 people have recovered from the disease across the continent.
South Africa has the highest number of confirmed cases on the continent with 2,415 cases, 27 deaths, and 410 recoveries.

Egypt follows with 2,190 cases, 164 deaths, and 488 recoveries while Algeria has 1,983, 313 deaths and 601 recoveries.
The data also showed that Central Africa has 1,309 cases, 42 deaths, and 170 recoveries while East Africa has 1,458 cases, 32 deaths, and 232 recoveries.
North Africa has 6,769 confirmed cases, 639 deaths, and 1,336 recoveries while Southern Africa has 2,577 cases, 37 deaths, and 455 recoveries.

West Africa has recorded 3,625 COVID-19 cases, 89 deaths, and 702 recoveries.
According to Africa CDC, the first four countries with the lowest confirmed cases are South Sudan, Sao Tome and Principe, Burundi, and Mauritania.
South Sudan and Sao Tome and Principe have four cases each with no death. Burundi has five confirmed cases with one death while Mauritania has seven confirmed cases with one death and two recoveries.
