Nigeria’s fastest growing gym chain iFitness has been recognised as ‘Africa’s Most Outstanding Gym Brand of The Year 2022’ by the African Brand Congress at the recently concluded African Brand Leadership Merit Awards 2022.
As implied by a statement made by the organisers, the technical committee of the Congress performed extensive due diligence on all the nominees of the various award categories. The emerging recipients were independently selected after much deliberation over the research findings.
The 7th edition of the Congress hosted at Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Ikeja Lagos, was graced with the presence of special guests H.E Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, President, South Africa; H.E Nana Akufo-Addo, President, The Republic of Ghana; Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President, African Development Bank; H.E Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria; H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson, African Union; and many other reputable dignitaries from several African countries.
Speaking on the award, the Founder and CEO of iFitness Foluso Ogunwale remarked “We are truly grateful for this remarkable recognition. This award has inspired each partaker of the iFitness story to reflect how far the brand has come and reenergised us for the journey ahead.” The organisers of the award acknowledged the fitness organisation for its value creation, brand building efforts and commendable growth efforts in 2022.
Ogunwale commented that the target of the company in the next five years is to ensure that the fitness brand originating from Nigeria is recognisable globally stating that plans are in the pipeline to bring provide more accessibility to fitness facilities, materials, information, experts and communities.
