Ahmed’s COVID-19 diagnosis was announced a few days after Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, tested positive for the novel disease.
The development also comes two days after he expressed his intention to run for a second term as CAF president.
The election is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2021 at an extraordinary general assembly in Morocco.
